Cats for Doge an Ironic Twist

It seems only fitting to create a site Cats for Doge for a crypto coin that was created as a joke. For those who don’t know the story, you can read the background here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogecoin

The name of the coin has a lot to do with its popularity in my opinion. Do Only Good Everyday. In the early days after its inception in 2014, a couple of major fundraising events occurred. One was a campaign to help send the Jamaican bobsled team to the winter Olympics. Another was a campaign to build a water well in Kenya. I may be wrong, but I believe the fundraising committee that was created eventually ran into some tax issues.

At the end of 2020 into the beginning of 2021, a new era of Dogecoin began. Elon Musk with his One word Doge tweet seemed to have awoken the masses. Another event that may have helped propel the coin is the Gamestop epic squeeze. It brought throngs of retail investors into the market. Hungry for more, Doge became one of the investments people gravitated towards. The community, which did exist on Reddit, Facebook and Twitter, exploded. These communities, especially on Twitter, are some of the best loving, caring, welcoming and supportive people on the internet.

In the last couple of months, some amazing things have happened. One is Doge reached an ATH of just shy of .50. Notable celebrities and businesses have come forward to support the coin and make Doge part of their branding. In a couple of weeks Elon will be on SNL. There are so many great things ahead. Can’t wait to see what happens.
